We are here to share the love of sauna culture. For us, sauna is a quintessential part of life. This life is for everyone and we want to create opportunities and experiences for all to feel at home and welcome in the sauna.

Sharing a love of Sauna Culture.Through Kamu Sauna, it is our vision to offer authentic, affordable sauna experiences where folks experience community and belonging. At the heart of Kamu Sauna are Juho + Becky Pelkonen with Juho having grown up in Finland within and alongside sauna as part of his everyday life. Juho's father was a builder who built numerous family homes; the teaching goes that the sauna is the first thing to be built in the home in Finland! Now we are living here in ʔamak̓is Ktunaxa and have had the privilege of building numerous saunas here, both outdoors and within homes, including our own. We've also shared heat therapy experiences with the original caretakers of this Land we now call home. These experiences really solidified for us the deep meaning, benefits, and connection sauna can bring to one's life across many cultures. We live within ILOMAA FOREST FARM, a 40-acre off-grid "forest farm" where we forage, wildcraft and create teas, honeys and other culinary delights from herbs + plants from the Land around us. |

Saunas offer purifying experiences that support the body, reduce stress, and foster deep relaxation. Culturally, they serve as communal spaces where people connect, share conversations, and bond. THE MOBILE SAUNA
|
Our mobile sauna is inspired by Juho's experience growing up in Finland. Housed in a durable trailer, the interior is constructed with local wood species and feature walls milled by us from Douglas Fir right from our Forest Farm.
